At the outset of every case, Brian thinks creatively about how to optimize the outcome, and then he puts those ideas into action. Clients appreciate Brian's energy, candid and timely evaluations, his efforts to settle cases before substantial litigation costs are incurred, and his preparation and skill at trial on those cases that can't be settled. Brian thinks of every case as his own. He views development of evidence through discovery from a juror's perspective. As part of that point of view, Brian has been at the front of the firm's effort to present multimedia at trial that gives jurors important information in an entertaining and memorable fashion.

Brian believes that some disputes should be settled, and for clients in that position, the right to a jury trial with an effective lawyer is precious. Brian has been among the most active lawyers in Oregon in terms of trying cases to a jury throughout his career, and his track record is outstanding. His trial experience includes everything from seemingly minor disputes between neighbors, multiple wrongful death trials, and other catastrophic injury trials where the potential damage exposure was massive.

Brian is the father of three children who are now productive young adults. Brian enjoys a number of outdoor recreational pursuits. When he isn't behind a desk or in court, he is in the woods or on the water.
